This is the Homepage of the Creggan History Society. The area covered by the Society is the ancient Irish Barony of the Upper Fews, in Co Armagh, and that part of the Creggan Parish that is in County Louth. The Society meets regularly in Áras an Chairdinéil Ó Fiaich, (Cardinal O'Fee Centre), in Cullyhanna. Please have a look around and tell us what you think. We would like to hear from you, especially if you, or your ancestors, are from the area. You can sign our Visitor's Book or leave a message, make a comment, or ask a question on our Message Board.

Creggan Church - PHOTO Pat Devlin

'One pledge I shall ask you only, one promise, O Queen divine!
And then I will follow faithful - still follow each step of thine,
Should I die in some far-off country, in our wanderings east and west,
In the fragrant clay of Creggan let my weary heart have rest'

From 'Urchill an Chreagáin' - Art McCooey - (1715-1773)
